Privacy Policy

We built SaveIt to help you remember what matters. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Effective date: July 2026

🔓
No social media login required — ever.

SaveIt works with any public URL. We never ask for your Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or any other platform password or credentials. If you have a link, you're ready to go.

01Who We Are

SaveIt ("we", "us", "our") is a content summarization service that allows users to save URLs from platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and the web, and receive AI-generated summaries of that content.

By using SaveIt, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

02Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

Information collected automatically

Information from third-party sign-in

We do not collect: location data of any kind, contacts, photos from your camera roll, browsing history outside of URLs you explicitly submit, payment card information (Apple processes all payments), advertising identifiers, or any biometric data. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

03How We Process Your Content

When you submit a URL, SaveIt fetches the content from the source, processes it using our AI summarization system, and stores the resulting summary and transcript so you can retrieve it instantly in the future.

By saving a URL, you represent that you have the right to access that content. SaveIt fetches only publicly accessible content via the URL you provide. We do not log into your accounts on any third-party platform — no credentials are ever requested or stored.

04Third-Party Platforms & Content Liability

SaveIt is a bookmarking and summarization tool. We fetch publicly accessible content from platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter/X, Reddit, Facebook, and the open web when you submit a URL. We are not responsible for the content that exists on these platforms.

SaveIt currently supports fetching content from the following sources when you submit a URL:

Links from unsupported platforms (for example, Reddit and Facebook) are rejected and are not fetched or processed. Supported platforms may change over time.

SaveIt does not require you to log into any of these platforms and does not access any non-public content on your behalf.

No editorial control. SaveIt does not create, curate, moderate, or editorially review any content on third-party platforms. We have no visibility into or control over what content exists on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or any other platform. Each of those platforms is solely responsible for the content hosted on their services and their own moderation policies and terms of use.

No liability for third-party content. SaveIt is not liable for any content originating from third-party platforms, regardless of its nature. This includes — without limitation — content that is illegal, illicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable. The content you choose to save originates entirely from and remains the responsibility of the platform it was posted on. SaveIt bears no responsibility for content that a platform has failed to remove, has not yet detected, or that a user encounters and saves before platform moderation occurs.

Absolute zero tolerance for illegal content. SaveIt expressly prohibits the use of our service to access, save, distribute, or interact with any content that is illegal under applicable law, including but not limited to: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that sexualizes or exploits minors in any way, terrorist or extremist content, content that incites violence or illegal activity, or threats of any kind. SaveIt does not proactively monitor or review content saved by users — we are a passive tool and have no visibility into individual posts. Upon becoming aware of any such violation, we will take immediate action, including terminating the account and reporting the material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or relevant law enforcement authorities. We cooperate fully with all lawful investigations.

User responsibility. You are solely responsible for the URLs you choose to submit to SaveIt. SaveIt is a passive tool — it summarizes content at your direction. By submitting a URL, you represent and warrant that your use of that content complies with all applicable laws and the terms of service of the originating platform. SaveIt disclaims all liability arising from your choices of what to save.

05Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

Infrastructure

SaveIt uses industry-standard cloud infrastructure to store and process data. These providers process data solely to provide infrastructure services and are bound by strict data processing agreements.

AI processing

To generate summaries, the content at the URLs you submit (and, where applicable, the media itself) is processed by a third-party AI provider (currently Google's Gemini API) acting as our processor. This content is submitted solely to generate your summary and transcript, under API terms that do not permit the provider to use it to train their models. We do not send your email address or account identity to the AI provider.

Payments

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple shares with us only your subscription status (which plan, active or not) — never your payment details.

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of SaveIt, our users, or the public.

06Data Retention

Data type Retention period
Account information (email, name) Until you delete your account
Saved items (URLs, summaries, notes) Until you delete the item or your account
Authentication codes 10 minutes (expire automatically)
Session (refresh) tokens Deleted after 180 days of inactivity, on sign-out, or on account deletion
Diagnostic & processing logs Automatically deleted after 90 days
Device identifier records Retained while the device is associated with an account, and afterward as needed for abuse prevention
Post-deletion anti-abuse record (see below) Retained after account deletion for fraud and abuse prevention

When you delete your account, we immediately and permanently delete your saved items, folders, notes, and active user record. We retain a minimal anti-abuse record (your email address and sign-in identifiers, plus your recent usage count) so that account deletion cannot be used to evade plan limits, bans, or fraud detection — this is retained on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and is not used for any other purpose. Shared content processing results (summaries also referenced by other users) are not deleted, as they are not exclusively yours and are no longer linked to you.

07Your Rights and Controls

Regardless of where you are located, we provide the following controls to all users:

Delete your account

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account. We verify your identity with a code sent to your email before deleting. Your saved content and profile are removed immediately; a minimal anti-abuse record is retained as described in Section 6.

Update your information

You can change your display name and email address at any time from Profile → Account Settings.

Delete individual saves

You can delete any saved item at any time from within the app. Deleted items are removed immediately from your account.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively, including the right to access, rectify, restrict processing of, or port your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in Section 11.

08Security

We take security seriously and implement the following measures:

No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a security vulnerability in SaveIt, please disclose it responsibly by contacting us directly before making it public.

09Children's Privacy

Under 13 — not permitted

SaveIt is not directed at and may not be used by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created a SaveIt account, please contact us at privacy@saveitapp.io and we will promptly investigate and delete the account.

Ages 13–17 — parental consent required

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may only use SaveIt with the express, informed consent of a parent or legal guardian. By permitting a minor to use SaveIt, the parent or guardian:

SaveIt is not liable for any minor's use of the service that occurs without parental consent or supervision.

Protecting minors — our commitment

SaveIt has absolute zero tolerance for any content that depicts, sexualizes, exploits, or harms minors in any way. Any account found to be using SaveIt to access such content will be terminated immediately and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement authorities. We cooperate fully with all investigations involving the safety of minors.

10Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will either:

Minor clarifications and non-substantive edits may be made at any time without notice. Your continued use of SaveIt after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
